Kailua Beach

A while back (sorry, I'm behind), we went to Kailua beach with our neighbors. It is the prettiest beach ever! We took our brand new puppy, Lola with us, and we all had a blast!

Normally I would crop this picture, but i wanted you to see just how small this little girl is. She's 3 pounds!

Colette had a lot of fun playing in the sand for a while, and then she got in the water and had even more fun.

Gavin is...... hitting the water? I don't know, but look at how much fun he's having here!

Just to show you how pretty this beach is.

I feel like a traitor....

Due to circumstances beyond our control (the ORIGINAL copy of our Texas registration being en route, and there's a 10 day window for registering your vehicle in Hawaii), we got new Hawaii plates for our truck.

But don't worry, people. I kept our Texas ones. We might hang them on the wall or something. Or maybe I just need to buy a Texas flag for our wall like the big a** american flag we have, or something. But I doubt they sell those in Hawaii. Hmm... I'll have to figure that one out.

Dole Plantation Train Ride

We went to the Dole Plantation last weekend (not this past weekend, the one before). We went with the neighbors, and it was fun. Not your every day activity. Colette and Gavin have been playing with the neighbor's little girl, Lili, every chance they get.

Here they are:

The first thing we did at the Dole Plantation was eat. We were all hungry! I tried a local dish called loco moco. It consists of fried egg, a hamburger patty, white rice, and brown gravy. it wasn't bad, just pretty bland and kind of boring. But I tried something new. I didn't get any pictures of us eating, because, well, we were hungry.

After we ate lunch, we went for a ride on the Pineapple Express. It is a train that takes you on a tour of part of the plantation, with a narrative of the history and some tidbits about the place and pineapples.

Some pictures of us on the train:

Can you find the pineapple here?

We were almost back to the train depot when our luck kicked in: the train went off the tracks. Everyone had to get off the train and walk back to the depot. It did allow for some good picture opportunities, though.

Beach Pictures...

We have been to the beach three times since we moved to Hawaii, and we've had fun each time we went.

My pictures apparently loaded completely out of order, and well, I'm lazy. So pardon the jumping around, ok?

This was at Waikiki, across from a HUGE mall.

This picture is from one of the beaches on the North Shore. This was one of many small beach parks on the island. It is my goal to see every beach out there, lol!

This is Waikiki again. That's Jeremy's lovely side there.

Waikiki again. It was so bright out that the pictures turned out dark.

This was North Shore. I didn't get any good pictures of them, but there were sea turtles all over the place. They were just swimming in the water with the people there.
